The White Water Kayaking Award (formally 3 star) is designed to enhance your skills judgement and decision making for journeying safely on white water, up to grade 2.
Previous paddling experience is essential and you need to be competently paddling on sheltered water prior to attending this course.
This course is a natural stepping stone for those who have been on our Introduction to White Water Kayaking course.
Our expert instructors will build on your existing knowledge of the white water and build your confidence through techniques and theory. Over these two, adventure-filled days, we will teach you how to plan a river trip, read the water, break in and out of ‘eddies’ and ‘ferry glide’ across the river, and loads more!

Those unsuccessful will be given an action plan to gain the required experience to pass the award.
Certificate fees are not included in the course costs, this must be paid directly to British Canoeing.
